Call of the Void
To solve the challenge of creating visual and verbal designs that express the same concept, I worked with handmade marks and textures and unconventional type. For this project, I focused on 'l'appel du vide', or the call of the void, which is a fascinating danger response that many people experience when they are in high up places or other potentially unsafe scenarios. In the visual designs, the pulling and distortion is a visual reference to how people feel when looking down, and the clashing colors are to evoke the feeling of danger.
